Q.        Am I a candidate for the Brazilian Butt lift?

A.        If you are in good health and have some excess fat that you would like removed and placed in your buttocks you would be considered a good candidate for the procedure.

Q.        How is the fat removed?

A.        The fat is removed in a gentle and precise way to do the least damage to the fat cells.  This is accomplished by inserting small cannulas through small skin incisions to remove the excess fat.  We are very careful during the fat extraction part of the procedure to insure that the fat cells that we harvest will have the greatest chance of survival when they are injected into your buttocks.

Q.        Do I have to be put to sleep for the procedure?

A.        Here at Cole Dermatology and Aesthetic Center you do not need to be put to sleep to have the procedure done.  We do the entire procedure under local tumescent anesthesia.  The procedure done in this manner is safer than general anesthesia and allows us to sculpt the buttocks more precisely.

Q.        Do I have any special instructions after the procedure is completed?

A.        You have to be careful when sitting so as not to put pressure on the sites where the fat was injected.   We instruct our patients to sit on their posterior thighs for one week after the surgery.  Patients usually take off one week of work to insure they do not damage the transferred fat.
