Fraxel®Laser Treatment
 Fraxel® Laser Treatment is a unique, non-invasive laser therapy designed to dramatically improve skin texture and pigmentation, allowing you to once more enjoy the fresh and healthy skin of your youth. Its patented "fractional" technology penetrates deep within the skin for maximum rejuvenation while promoting fast healing and stimulating the production of new, firm tissue to smooth out imperfections.

How does Fraxel technology work?
Fraxel Laser Treatment utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light at any given time. The treatment delivers a series of narrow but deep microscopic laser spots to reach the innermost layers of skin and stimulate collagen growth while leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. The healthy cells in the untouched spots promote rapid healing of the entire area, resulting in faster recovery time and minimal side effects. Think of this "fractional" technique as being like restoring a painting one tiny area at a time, or altering an electronic image pixel by pixel.
Fraxel Laser Treatment combines the effectiveness of traditional ablative lasers with the rapid healing of non-fractional non-ablative lasers.
What is the Fraxel Laser Treatment like?
Fraxel Laser Treatments can be performed right in your doctor's office. First, your face will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied. The local anesthetic stays in place for 45-60 minutes to provide adequate anesthesia. A full-face Fraxel Laser Treatment typically takes 20-25 minutes.
What can I expect after a Fraxel Laser Treatment?
 Your skin may feel as if it has been mildly sunburned for about an hour after a Fraxel Laser Treatment. After that, discomfort should be minimal. Mild swelling should subside within two to three days, and pinkness-an indication that the skin has been deeply treated-usually fades over five to seven days. There is limited, if any, risk of infection or scarring.
New epidermal skin develops within 24 hours. This new skin may be bronze-tinged for a few days to two weeks. It will likely flake and exfoliate as old skin sloughs off and new skin takes its place. The new skin is also highly sensitive and requires adequate sun protection for several months after treatment. A sun screen with an SPF 30 or more should be applied daily. Excessive sun exposure should be avoided.
Is there any downtime?
While individual results vary, Fraxel offers the benefits of speedy healing and little to no downtime. Many patients return to routine activities and can shave or apply make-up soon after treatment.
When will I see results? How long do the effects last?
Results are immediate and progressive, with optimal improvement usually visible in about two to three months and gradual improvement for up to a year. Each session shows marked improvement in skin quality, resulting in a high level of patient satisfaction.
How many treatments will I need?
Treatment plans vary from patient to patient; your doctor will recommend the number of treatments needed to achieve your personal goals. Clinical studies suggest that an effective treatment plan is three to six sessions spaced about two to four weeks apart. Each session targets a certain percentage of the skin's surface. By the end of the treatment plan, the entire treatment area will have been covered.
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy involves the injection of medications and other substances into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue beneath the skin. At Cole Dermatology and Aesthetic Center, PC we use mesotherapy, also referred to as lipodissolve, to reduce unwanted fat deposits located throughout the body. It involves a series of injections into the subcutaneous fat to remove the unwanted adipose tissue and to reshape the body. The procedure can be done every 3 to 4 weeks. The procedure requires no downtime and you may experience inflammation and firmness in the area for 3-5 days.

Cutera Vantage Laser
Laser Vein Removal
At Cole Dermatology and Aesthetic Center we also use the Cutera Vantage Laser for spider vein removal. Our laser can be used safely on all skin types. The procedure is customized to each patient depending on the size of each vessel. Both larger and deeper blue vessels as well as smaller more superficial red vessels can be safely treated. We have obtained excellent results with the treatment of both facial and leg veins. The laser treatment works by passing light through the skin, targeting the vessel causing thermocoagulation and eventual collapse of the vessel.

Laser Treatment of Toe Nail Fungus
Many patients wish that there was a safe, easy, and effective way to get rid of embarrassing nail fungus. The Cutera Cool Glide laser provides the latest medical technology that is proven effective to eliminate toe nail fungus. This laser offers significant advantages over other lasers, and significant advantages over oral medications for nail fungus.
The Cutera Cool Glide laser works by penetrating through the nail with an invisible beam of laser light to the fungus layer, heating and eliminating the destructive pathogens while revitalizing the nail. The Cutera Cool Glide laser does not harm the healthy surrounding tissue or the nail growth plate, and there is no discomfort either during or after the treatment.
Dr. Cole feels that the Cutera Cool Glide laser is superior to all other advancements for toe nail fungus. SkinScape Microdermabrasion
What is microdermabrasion ?
 Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical exfoliating procedure, done individually or in a series, for revitalizing and maintaining the skin's appearance and smoothness. It can be used to address problem areas on the face or body. Also known as the "lunchtime peel," one session generally takes 30 minutes or so, and there is neither special preparation before the visit nor recuperation afterward.
Is the procedure new?
Microdermabrasion has been used successfully for years in Europe, and is now one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in this country. Our office uses the new SkinScapeŽ Microdermabrasion System, because of its quality and dependability. Furthermore, it is the particular brand of equipment endorsed by the world leader in laser skin resurfacing technology.
Microdermabrasion is a valuable skin care procedure when used alone, or in combination with other approaches.
How does it work?
A precise stream of very fine crystals is directed through the SkinScape handpiece onto the skin to loosen the layer of dead skin cells that form on the surface. It then suctions away both the skin debris and the crystals to reveal fresh invigorated skin. Typically, only the uppermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, is removed. This is why there is minimal discomfort and virtually no recuperation. In select cases, however, a more aggressive abrasion may be chosen, and appropriate aftercare will be discussed.

Medlite 6 Laser
Our Medlite 6 laser is a high-tech way to remove tattoos or eliminate brown discoloration caused by certain birth marks or age spots also known as "liver spots".
Laser Tattoo Removal
All colors of a tattoo can be treated with the Medlite 6 laser. Dark (blue, black) and red inks resolve the best. Oranges and purples usually fade as well. Green and yellow inks are the most difficult to remove, and additional treatments are needed to produce significant fading. The tattoo will completely disappear in many cases.

Cosmetic Mole Removal
Any new or changing mole should be evaluated by your dermatologist immediately. Any moles that appear to be abnormal should be removed and sent to the laboratory for examination by a dermatopathologist. Dr. Cole offers a full skin examination on your first visit and yearly thereafter to check for abnormal moles and skin cancer.
If Dr. Cole determines that a mole is benign (non-cancerous), a mole may be removed for cosmetic reasons. In this case, insurance will not cover the removal of moles which are removed for cosmetic reasons.
The price of mole removal depends on how large the mole is, where the mole is located, and the method used to remove it.
